Weston Seats Five-Member Select Board for First Time, Reorganizes Leadership

WESTON — May 13, 2026 — Weston convened the first-ever meeting of its five-member Select Board on May 12, a change enabled by a special act of the Massachusetts Legislature. Town Manager Leon Gaumond, recapping the meeting in his Select Board Rewind program, described the occasion as "a very historic moment for the town of Weston." The three newly seated members — Alfred L. Aydelott, Rebecca J. Mercuri, and Anupam Sachdev — joined the board, which then reorganized, naming John F. McDonald as chair and Aydelott as clerk. The board voted to grant a special permit for the Fisk Law Office to operate as general office space, contingent on Planning Board approval at the May 20 meeting, and appointed Dana Vicki to the Tree Advisory Committee. Members also agreed to designate one or two of their number to a fire station building committee and directed the town manager to work with town counsel on amending the historic preservation restriction at 823 Boston Post Road.
