Planning Board approves Frank Feeley Field rebuild with stormwater and fence conditions
SUDBURY — May 13, 2026 — Sudbury Planning Board approves Frank Feeley Field renovation with fence and filter-fabric conditions. The board voted 4-0 Wednesday on both the site plan and stormwater management permits for the 200 Raymond Road softball complex, with member Anuraj Shah absent. Kyle Rowan of Gale Associates presented design changes including a 1.75 percent uniform field slope, a 350-foot infiltration trench with weir overflow controls, and all irrigation heads pulled outside the 100-foot wetland buffer. Chair Stephen Garvin and Vice-Chair John Sugrue pressed to drop most six-foot chain-link fencing to four feet, calling six-foot fence "a visual obstruction for a very small amount of safety," with Assistant Town Manager Victor Garofalo signaling agreement pending Recreation Commission input. The board also approved a 13-by-28-foot outdoor patio at Ramen Haven, 530A Boston Post Road, and discussed the May town meeting defeat of its wireless communications facilities overlay, which member Kirsten Roopenian said had been "conflated with something that literally had zero to do with the bylaw."
