Wayland activates MWRA emergency tie-in, restricts outdoor water use
WAYLAND — The Department of Public Works on Wednesday issued outdoor water-use restrictions and switched on the town's emergency connection with the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, the most consequential of several town announcements posted in the past 24 hours.
TOWN HALL
The DPW Water Division on May 14 issued outdoor water-use restrictions under Section 190-4 of the town bylaws, citing an emergency declaration from the state Department of Environmental Protection dated May 13. The town simultaneously activated its emergency connection to the MWRA system. Residents should consult the town's notice for the specific limits on irrigation, washing and other outdoor uses (https://www.wayland.ma.us/CivicAlerts.aspx?aid=53).
The Finance Committee Appointing Board is recruiting five candidates to fill seats on the Finance Committee. Residents interested in serving can find details on the town's News Flash (https://www.wayland.ma.us/CivicAlerts.aspx?aid=54).
The town has also launched a redesigned wayland.ma.us, which officials say is meant to give residents and visitors an improved online experience.
