Wayland capital committee reschedules June meeting after town officials cancel

WAYLAND — May 27, 2026 — Wayland's Capital Improvement Planning Committee rescheduled its June meeting and previewed a leadership change at a short May 27 session. Chair Kelly Lappin moved the next meeting to June 3 after the town manager and planning director could not attend Tuesday, and canceled the June 10 date. Lappin confirmed she will not seek reappointment when her Finance Committee designee seat expires June 30, though she said she could stay briefly while a replacement is recruited. Vice Chair Bradford Carver said the Finance Committee vice chair told him the panel's annual report "did influence" town budget deliberations even though it was not reflected in the town manager's initial recommendation. Members approved May 13 minutes 4-0 and added a chair election to the June 24 agenda. School Committee designee Brian O'Herlihy reported progress on a redesigned project submission form. Member John Kliem was absent.
