Weston ZBA unanimously approves rear porch expansion at 265 Glen Road

WESTON — May 27, 2026 — Weston's Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approved a special permit for a 445-square-foot rear porch expansion at 265 Glen Road. Chair Stephen J. Larocque, Member Jane Fisher Carlson, and Associate Member Tristan Colangelo voted 3-0 Wednesday to grant the permit to owners Alison Mooradian and Simon Whitelaw, represented by attorney Beth Nolan, finding the project would not be substantially more detrimental to the neighborhood than the property's existing nonconformities. The expansion will raise the home's residential gross floor area from 2,211 square feet to roughly 2,656 square feet — 14.5 percent of the lot size, still below the 16.7 percent average for the Glen Road Historic District. The Weston Historic Commission had already given unanimous approval with no construction delay. The board conditioned the permit on the applicant submitting proposed elevation drawings and a bedroom-labeled floor plan to the Zoning Office, after members noted those documents were missing from the distributed package.
