Town debuts redesigned website and posts 2026 Town Meeting synopsis
WAYLAND — The town rolled out a redesigned municipal website Tuesday and published the official synopsis of the 2026 Annual Town Meeting, while police separately alerted residents to a black bear spotted in a local neighborhood.
TOWN HALL
The town's new website went live Tuesday, with officials promoting it as an "improved online experience" for residents and visitors. The redesigned wayland.ma.us is the public-facing replacement for the long-running CivicPlus-built site and is intended to make department pages, alerts and online services easier to navigate.
Town Hall also posted the 2026 Annual Town Meeting Synopsis covering Articles 1 through 41, giving residents a single document recapping how voters disposed of every warrant article at this spring's session. The synopsis is now available on the town's News Flash page.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Council on Aging's May 2026 newsletter is out, and the COA flagged two upcoming closures of the Community Center at 8 Andrew Avenue: Monday, May 19, and Monday, May 25. Director Julie Secord's office continues regular outreach, S.H.I.N.E. health-insurance counseling and fitness programming in between.
At Beatrice Herford's Vokes Theatre on Route 20, "Jesus Christ Superstar," directed by Jennifer Gasser with music direction by Shane Stecher, is running through May 16 and is sold out. Vokes also confirmed a special June project tied to the town's semiquincentennial: a concert version of "1776," co-produced with the Wayland 250 Committee and the Wayland High School theater department, at the high school June 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m.
