Sudbury HDC approves 84 French Road dormer and pool fence plans

SUDBURY — May 7, 2026 — Sudbury HDC approves French Road dormer-and-portico plan after months of design revision. Vice Chair Taryn Trexler led the May 7 meeting in Chair Anuraj Shah's absence and the commission voted 4-0 to approve owners Gabby and Joe Cefalo's plan to add three dormers, widen the front portico, replace front windows with Andersen 100 Series clad units in white, and reshingle in GAF Timberline HDZ Charcoal at 84 French Road, with a stained mahogany front door. Member Christopher Hagger and Member John (Griff) G Noble pushed back on a last-minute AI-generated alternative showing paired 22-inch dormer windows; Noble said the single-window scheme "really hits your house." Revised column detail must clear the chair before the Certificate issues. The commission also approved a 4.4-foot black metal pool fence at the same property and a Pewter Gray roof shingle replacement at 46 Robert Best Road, and continued Edmund Stanton's 132 Peakham Road window-door-siding application to June 4 for lack of photographs and shutter specifications.
