Weston Select Board Approves AT&T Small Cell Permit at Love Lane, 2-1

WESTON — January 27, 2026 — Weston Select Board approves AT&T small cell permit at Love Lane, 2-1, as $123 million FY27 budget debuts. Town Manager Leon Gaumond presented a draft FY27 operating budget totaling just over $123 million — up roughly 5.1 million dollars from the prior year — projecting a 5.3 percent increase in property tax revenues and an estimated 4.03 percent rise in the average residential tax bill, or about $784 for the median residential property. The board voted 2-1 to approve AT&T's petition to install small cell equipment on a utility pole near 121 Love Lane, with Chair Lise N. Revers dissenting on grounds that the proposed location does not meet the town's 75-foot residential setback guideline; members John F. McDonald and Anupam Sachdev prevailed, citing coverage quality and public safety. The board unanimously approved a 2 percent performance bonus for Gaumond and also received a succession planting plan from the Tree Advisory Committee calling for roughly $300,000 in Community Preservation Committee funding to begin replanting the Town Green, Lamson Park, and Knox Park. The town has certified $11.8 million in free cash, elevated in part by the reclassification of remaining ARPA federal funds.
