Wayland Select Board approves charge for 25 Holiday Road advisory committee
WAYLAND — April 27, 2026 — Wayland Select Board unanimously approves seven-member advisory committee for 25 Holiday Road site study. The 5-0 vote, contingent on Town Meeting approval of $200,000 under Article 16 on May 4, charges the panel with reviewing professionals' findings on the 13.72-acre town-owned parcel and reporting back by Dec. 1, 2026. Member Thomas J. Fay, who drafted the charge, called it "pretty limited" and rebuffed Orchard Lane residents who asked for more neighborhood seats and a Conservation Commission representative, saying nine members would risk quorum problems. The board separately authorized Town Manager Michael McCall to apply for up to $10,000 from the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation toward a roughly $27,000 mural at the community pool, and heard new Wayland Town Center owner Jesse Baerkahn of Graffito SP pledge a cafe, repainted buildings and Andrew Avenue pedestrianization. Town Manager Michael McCall reported a $640,000 snow-and-ice overage.
