Wayland Assessors Unanimously Approve $47.8 Million in FY 2027 Preliminary Tax Warrants
WAYLAND — June 15, 2026 — Wayland Board of Assessors approved nearly $47.8 million in preliminary fiscal year 2027 tax warrants at its June 15 remote meeting. Chair Zachariah L. Ventress presided as the board voted unanimously to accept warrants covering $46,581,994.15 in real estate tax, $579,762.58 in personal property tax, and $641,972.40 in Community Preservation Act tax, for a combined first- and second-quarter preliminary commitment of $47,803,729.13. The board also unanimously accepted FY 2026 supplemental tax warrants of $37,945.03 covering eight properties that increased in assessed value by more than 50 percent after the January 1 assessment date, triggering the town's supplemental tax authority under state law. Before adjourning to executive session to discuss pending Appellate Tax Board cases brought by BOS Retail 1 LLC and Twenty Wayland LLC, members confirmed a quorum for a later joint session with the Select Board to vote on filling a vacant assessors' seat.
