Townsend Library Closes Friday and Saturday for Juneteenth Holiday

With the Juneteenth federal holiday arriving this week, the Townsend Public Library has announced a two-day closure, and the town is reminding residents that the window to renew curbside trash and recycling service closes next month.

TOWN HALL

Residents who use the town's curbside trash and recycling program have until July 10 to register for the 2026-2027 service year. The town posted the renewal reminder on June 8; residents who do not re-enroll by the deadline risk losing scheduled pickup service when the new program year begins. Registration information is available through the town website at townsendma.gov.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Townsend Public Library will be closed this Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. The library posted the notice on its website this week. Patrons planning to pick up holds or attend programs should note the two-day gap and plan visits accordingly. Regular hours are expected to resume Monday, June 22.
