Town Schedules Joint Hazardous Waste Drop-Off for June 20 at Stoneham High
The town's annual joint hazardous waste collection with Melrose is five days out, with the Stoneham Public Library opening multi-day Finals Frenzy student programming Tuesday and the town separately confirming that this Friday's Juneteenth holiday will not disrupt trash and recycling pickup.

The Stoneham/Melrose Hazardous Waste Collection is set for Saturday, June 20, from 8 a.m. to noon at Stoneham High School, 149 Franklin Street. Residents can find details on accepted materials in the town's announcement. On a separate housekeeping note, the town's homepage banner confirmed this week's trash and recycling collection will run on its normal schedule despite the Juneteenth federal holiday falling on Friday, June 19.

The Stoneham Public Library kicks off Finals Frenzy — a multi-day program aimed at students closing out the academic year — on Tuesday, June 17, continuing through Wednesday, June 18. A Therapy Dog Visit is scheduled Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m., and Film Club meets that evening at 6:30 p.m. Patrons should note that the Drop-in Tech Support session originally scheduled for Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon has been canceled; a separate Drop-in Tech Support slot remains on the calendar for the same time slot, so check with the library at 781-438-1324 to confirm.
