Tewksbury Conservation Commission Ratifies Seven Emergency Certifications in Single Meeting

TEWKSBURY — June 10, 2026 — Tewksbury's Conservation Commission ratified seven emergency certifications and continued two public hearings at its June 10 meeting. The largest block of emergency actions stemmed from persistent beaver activity: the commission approved two separate certifications for CSX railroad land behind 540 Main Street — one to break up a beaver dam causing flooding near Rogers Street, a second to trap and remove the animals after they rebuilt the dam within roughly three days — and a third to trap a beaver off Serenity that was blocking stormwater infrastructure. The remaining certifications covered a water main break at 14 Leston Street, storm tree removals at 21 Pumpkin Lane and 25 Robbie Terrace Way, a failed Title 5 sewer connection at 41 Bridge Street, and a water repair at 555 Whipple Road. The commission also issued negative determinations for a dry-well installation at 27 Quail Run and a backyard shed at 450 Pinnacle Street, and continued major land disturbance hearings for Marwick Associates at zero Merrimack Drive and Tyler Ryan at 73-75 Hillman Street to June 24. With the conservation agent position currently vacant, the chair directed commissioners to route all applicant correspondence through her office.
