Sudbury ZBA reorganizes, recommends Dorjets for full membership

SUDBURY — February 2, 2026 — Sudbury ZBA reorganizes for 2026 and finally moves to fill a vacant full-member seat. The Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously reelected John Riordan as chair and Frank Riepe as clerk on Feb. 2, and voted 5-0 to recommend that the Select Board promote associate Alexander Dorjets to the full-member seat left vacant by Nancy Rubinstein's resignation, with a term through May 2027. "My bad. I apologize for that. Should have moved this earlier last year," Riordan said of the long-overdue elevation. Town planner Adam Duchesneau reported that the operator of the disputed Volvo repair facility at 684 Boston Post Road, Michael Griffin, missed his year-end deadline to submit a written vehicle inventory but had told the building inspector by phone there were 81 cars on site, with roughly 20 removed since December. Duchesneau also urged the board to consider overhauling or eliminating Sudbury's earth removal bylaw for the 2027 Annual Town Meeting warrant, calling current permitting "administratively challenging" and largely duplicative of stormwater and site plan review.
