Sudbury Planning Board approves 85 Goodman's Hill Road stone wall rebuild with conditions
SUDBURY — June 10, 2026 — Sudbury Planning Board approves scenic road stone wall rebuild at 85 Goodman's Hill Road. Vice-Chair John Sugrue presided in Chair Stephen Garvin's absence as the board voted 3-0 Wednesday to let homeowners Trevor and Meg Hayden rebuild about 25 feet of stone wall along the designated scenic road, with conditions that it match the existing hand-stacked wall on the north side of the driveway and curve in a semicircle around a roadside fire hydrant. Town Planner Adam Duchesneau called the project a rare net positive for a scenic road, saying he "honestly feel[s] bad that we had to hold a hearing for it." Member Anuraj Shah pushed for the matching-look condition over the application's "AI rendering"; member Kirsten Roopenian raised the hydrant clearance question that produced the semicircle condition. The board next meets June 24, when Duchesneau said an Eversource scenic road application is expected.
