Sudbury opens CPA grant applications ahead of 2027 Town Meeting
SUDBURY — The Community Preservation Committee opened its next round of project applications Monday, kicking off a funding cycle that will culminate at the May 2027 Annual Town Meeting. The announcement came the same day Town Manager Andy Sheehan held open office hours and the town teed up two June public sessions on the Fairbank campus and the Liberty Ledge/Sewataro property.
TOWN HALL
The Community Preservation Committee is now accepting qualifying project proposals for funding under the Community Preservation Act, with recommended projects slated to go before voters at the May 2027 Annual Town Meeting. The CPA allows funding for qualifying projects in categories including open space, historic preservation, community housing and recreation.
Town Manager Andy Sheehan held open office hours Monday for residents to raise issues or concerns directly with the town's top administrator. The standing format gives walk-in residents a chance to flag local issues without going through a formal board agenda.
Two upcoming sessions will shape the town's planning for shared spaces. A Landscape Master Plan Workshop on Wednesday, June 11 invites residents to help set a long-term vision for the green spaces at the Fairbank Community Center and Haskell Field, working directly with the project team on design concepts. And on Tuesday, June 24, the Liberty Ledge/Sewataro Advisory Committee will host a public input session and community conversation on the future of the Liberty Ledge property.
