Planning Board Approves Forge Crossing Subdivision 3-1, Defers Final Endorsement to August
CARLISLE — June 16, 2026 — Carlisle's Planning Board conditionally approved the four-lot Forge Crossing subdivision at 35 West Prescott Street by a 3-1 vote at its June 16 meeting, while unanimously agreeing to amend a development agreement with Tech Park West that will deliver the same total payment to the town but with half paid at building-permit issuance rather than entirely at certificate of occupancy. Attorney Jeffrey Brum, representing West Prescott Realty, updated the board on a repositioned stormwater basin now meeting a 30-foot neighbor setback and the removal of a curbing waiver, though board members voted to strike draft decision language referencing elderly residents and lot-value reductions as "uncomfortable" and not appropriate for the record. Planning and Land Use Management Director Jeff Morissette cautioned the board that Carlisle must begin accepting large battery energy storage system applications under state law by October 1, and the board set a target of July 27 for a preliminary hearing on proposed zoning bylaw amendments. A sign permit for Liquor Junction at 174 Wilton Road was continued to August 17 after members objected that the property's landlord installed an oversized wall sign without returning to amend the site's comprehensive signage plan.
