Lincoln-Sudbury committee cuts parking and exam fees, defers vehicle policy vote

SUDBURY — March 24, 2026 — Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School Committee cuts student fees, banks capital surplus, defers EV policy. The committee voted unanimously March 24 to drop the student parking fee from $300 to $250, the AP exam fee from $125 to $115 and the PSAT fee from $45 to $40, on motions from finance subcommittee chair Maura Carty. Members also approved transferring $125,398.08 in unspent balances from five completed capital projects to capital stabilization, moving $30,574 of excess-and-deficiency funds to stabilization, and routing $91,722 to the FY26 general fund for out-of-district transportation overages. The committee deferred a town-wide Zero Emissions Vehicle First Policy — needed for Sudbury to chase up to $1.15 million in state Climate Leaders funding by June 30 — to April 8 after member John J. Ryan, Jr. called it "an absolute no-brainer" and "a contract of adhesion." Chair Ravi Simon reported the Lincoln Select Board unanimously approved the updated regional agreement Monday; Lincoln Town Meeting takes it up Saturday.
