Lincoln METCO schedules June 6 Juneteenth community celebration

LINCOLN — With town hall quiet at the start of the week, the loudest signal from Lincoln's primary sources is a Saturday Juneteenth celebration hosted by Lincoln METCO and a fresh superintendent update from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.

SCHOOLS Lincoln METCO is staging a community-wide Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 6, sponsored by the Boston Bridges Initiative, according to Lincoln Public Schools. Vendor tables open at 12:30 p.m., the Juneteenth program runs from 1 to 2 p.m., and outdoor festivities continue from 2:30 to 4 p.m. The district says the day will feature performances from the Boston Kroc Center, a STEP team, poetry, dance, a DJ, food, local and community vendors, and bouncy houses for kids.

At Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, Superintendent/Principal Andrew Stephens published a new "LS News & Happenings" message dated June 1, the latest in his rolling biweekly updates to families as the school year winds down.

The district side of Lincoln Public Schools' homepage also continues to point families to the open LPS Family Feedback Survey and to Superintendent's bi-weekly messages from May 8 and May 22, but no new district-level announcement landed in the past 24 hours.

ELSEWHERE IN THE NEWS No new coverage from Patch, MetroWest Daily News, or The Boston Globe in this cycle.

COMING UP - Saturday, June 6, 12:30–4 p.m.: Lincoln METCO Juneteenth community celebration, sponsored by the Boston Bridges Initiative. Vendor tables open at 12:30; program 1–2 p.m.; outdoor activities 2:30–4 p.m.
