Wayland Design Review Board Approves Asset Strategy Sign at 14 West Plain Road
WAYLAND — June 2, 2026 — Wayland's Design Review Advisory Board unanimously approved a sign recommendation for a financial firm's new West Plain Road location. Chair William Sterlin and members Robin Borgestedt and Tatiana Person voted to recommend approval of a colonial-style monument sign for Asset Strategy at 14 West Plain Road, contingent on owner Kent Fitzpatrick submitting a more detailed site plan to the town planner before his Zoning Board of Appeals hearing. Fitzpatrick, who bought the former Paresky Flitt building at the end of last year, is proposing a six-foot-eight-inch-wide sign with ground-level external illumination and subsidiary panels for affiliated businesses including the 47-year-old financial newsletter Money Letter. The board also held a preliminary discussion with town Facilities Manager Michael Faia on replacing the sign at 41 Cochituate Road with a rectangular PVC-and-granite design matching the Public Safety Building sign across Route 20, with no formal application yet filed.
