Library Computers Offline, Parking Lot Closes Thursday Before Finals Week

The Hopkinton Public Library is flagging two service disruptions this week — patron computers are currently out of service and the library parking lot will be shut for the day on Thursday — just as the school district heads into its last days of the academic year, with preschool wrapping up Monday and high school final exams opening Wednesday.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Patrons heading to the Hopkinton Public Library this week should plan for two changes. First, all patron-use computers — including reference and teen terminals — are currently unavailable; staff ask that anyone needing computer access speak directly with a desk staffer, though remote printing remains functional. Second, the library parking lot at 13 Main St. will be closed all day Thursday, June 18, due to utility work. The library is also warning that the utility work may leave the building warmer than usual that day, and patrons are asked to plan accordingly.

The library has also shifted to summer hours, now in effect through Labor Day. The building is open Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and closed Sundays. The library's June Guest Librarian feature spotlights Ian Richardson, administrative assistant for the Town Clerk and Human Resources offices, and his fiancé Ashleigh, who offer a list of horror recommendations on the library website. Residents interested in serving as a guest librarian can contact Library Director Nanci Hill at nhill@hopkintonma.gov.

SCHOOLS

The Hopkinton Public Schools are in the home stretch of the 2025-26 academic year. Preschool students see their last day on Monday, June 16. Kindergarten orientation nights are scheduled for Tuesday, June 17, and Wednesday, June 18, each running 6 to 6:30 p.m. High school final exams begin Wednesday, June 18, continuing through June 24, which is the last day of school for grades K through 11, with an early dismissal at 12:20 p.m. and no lunch served. The district will be closed Thursday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.
