Acton Emergency Preparedness Fair Opens Free at NARA Park Tuesday

The Town of Acton is inviting residents to a free Emergency Preparedness Fair at NARA Park on Tuesday, June 16, the most concrete community-engagement opportunity in a week that also includes two public hearings on road safety.

TOWN HALL

The Emergency Preparedness Fair runs Tuesday, June 16, at NARA Park and is open to all ages. Attendees can learn how the town prepares for emergencies such as flooding and extreme heat, discover what resources are available to residents, and take part in a scavenger hunt with prizes. Free food will be on hand, the Acton Public Library is hosting a pop-up, and the town's electric emergency vehicles will be on display for a close look.

Two public hearings follow later in the week. On Wednesday, June 17, at 6 p.m., MassDOT will hold a design public hearing on proposed safety improvements at Great Road (Route 2A/119) in Town Hall Room 204. The next evening, Thursday, June 18, at 7 p.m., the Department of Public Works will host an open house to discuss a preliminary Complete Street design for Central Street between Main Street and Martin Street.
