Library Closes June 19 for Juneteenth, Scam Talk Set for Tuesday

BILLERICA — The Billerica Public Library will be closed this Friday, June 19, for Juneteenth Independence Day — and is offering residents one last free program before the break: a scam-awareness presentation Tuesday evening led by the Middlesex Sheriff's Office.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The library's Juneteenth closure covers all day Friday, June 19; regular hours resume Monday, June 22. The timing makes Tuesday's event a useful send-off: the Middlesex Sheriff's Office will lead a Scam Awareness & Prevention presentation at the library on Tuesday, June 16, beginning at 7 p.m. The program is free and open to the public; registration is available at billericalibrary.org.

The library's summer reading deals are also in full swing. The Family Friends of the Library Paperback Beach Pick BOGO Sale continues through June 30, and canvas tote bags from the Family Friends are on sale for $10 each at the Circulation Desk, while supplies last.

Looking a bit further out, the library hosts a "Best Small Museums in Massachusetts" program on Thursday, June 26, at 7 p.m. — registration is open now at billericalibrary.org.
