Groton Planning Board Continues Auto Dealer Hearing, Orders Drainage Site Walk
GROTON — May 28, 2026 — Groton Planning Board orders site walk and engineering review before key approvals at May 28 meeting. Acting Chair Paul Hathaway presided as the board unanimously continued the Beverly Auto Sales parking expansion hearing at 14 Town Line Road to June 11 and scheduled a site walk for June 1 at 9 a.m. after a neighbor raised unresolved concerns about a culvert and storm drains behind the property. "It just seems too loosey-goosey for me at this point," said board member Russ Burke, pressing for a professionally reviewed drainage analysis and a complete scaled site plan before any vote. The board also voted unanimously to endorse the Gratuity Brook Farm Estate definitive subdivision plan at 63 Gratuity Road, but only after Nitsch Engineering completes a confirmatory review of the final plans and Town Counsel approves the title work — a condition added after members noted that plan mylars arrived digitally just hours before the meeting. A separate unanimous vote directed Planner Takashi Tada to send a compliance letter to the Kilburn Place property owner over dead trees and failing landscaping required under the site's approved plan.
