At the Jan. 6 meeting, trustees unanimously approved Library of Things policy changes capping mobile hotspots and Roku streaming devices at one checkout per household per month, formalizing a 14-day loan term, and authorizing staff to remotely "turn off a hotspot or Roku streaming service if it is not returned within three days past the due date." The library is 54 percent through its operating budget at fiscal midyear, with salaries tracking near 50 percent. The director reported that head of children's services Kathy Brennan has resigned, with interviews to begin the week of Jan. 20, and that Minuteman Library Network will migrate the library's failing Verizon connection to Comcast after roughly six weeks of near-daily outages. The Goodnow Library Foundation reported that Kirk Dental will fund the 2026 museum pass program.
