WAYLAND — February 2, 2026 — Wayland Finance Committee classifies 23 of 52 warrant articles as having negligible financial impact. The 7-0 vote under Town Code Section 19-3 covered routine items and several Sherman's Bridge Road petitions, though members agreed to draft full write-ups on the long-term facilities planning article and a Sherman's Bridge pedestrian walkway article estimated by its proponent at $100,000. Members also received Town Manager Michael McCall's proposed fiscal 2027 budget of $113.3 million — up $5.3 million from fiscal 2026 — projected $755,304 under the levy limit with no excluded debt. Iris Hoxha questioned whether the SPED Reserve Fund has become a de facto operating line, asking, "If every year it's more than expected, then are we actually baselining enough?" Member Rob Roman objected to receiving budgets "this late in the budget season."
