Conservation Commission approves three projects, picks DCOI for Sherman's Bridge

SUDBURY — June 15, 2026 — Sudbury Conservation Commission honors Bruce Porter, approves Sudbury Plaza septic repair and selects DCOI for Sherman's Bridge. Chair David Henkels opened the June 15 meeting with a tribute to longtime member Bruce Porter, who died June 5 after a long illness, and said a tree will be planted in his memory. The commission unanimously recommended associate Victor Sulkowski for full membership. It issued an order of conditions for a failing leaching field at 507 Boston Post Road (DEP File 301-1469), where the new system will provide 7.7 feet of separation to groundwater versus the existing six feet, and where the shopping center discharges roughly 4,000 gallons per day. On Sherman's Bridge rehabilitation (DEP File 301-1467), members voted DCOI over copper naphthenate for the new glulam deck panels, with Kathleen Rogers citing "the lack of heavy metals." Five other hearings were continued to June 29.
