Carlisle School Committee Convenes Today for Deliberations and Vote in Remote Session

The Carlisle School Committee convenes remotely this afternoon for a deliberations-and-vote session, the most consequential item on today's civic calendar, as the Building Department simultaneously enters a four-day stretch of limited staffing and the town renews its appeal for volunteers to fill open seats on boards and committees.

TOWN HALL

Residents heading to Town Hall this week should call the Building Department before making the trip. The office is operating on limited hours from today through Thursday, June 18, and staff may not be available for walk-in visits. The town is asking for patience and understanding while the reduced schedule is in effect.

Transfer Station permit enforcement is also now fully active. Same-day payment transactions can be handled by credit or debit card at the Police Station; all other transactions will be processed by mail. Cash is no longer accepted at the station.

The town is still seeking volunteers to fill open seats on several boards and committees. A complete list of vacancies is posted at carlislema.gov. The June edition of the Carlisle Municipal Newsletter, which includes town news, community events, and announcements, is now available online as well.

SCHOOLS

The Carlisle School Committee meets today at 2:30 p.m. in a remote session. The district website lists the agenda as "Deliberations and Vote," though no additional details were included in the public-facing announcement.

On the academic side, the district has published its 2026 summer learning resources — reading lists for all grade levels and math practice tools designed to keep students sharp over the break. The June edition of The Buzz, the district's family newsletter, is now online. The district has also released its annual Story of Our School overview for 2025-2026, framing the year as a living account shaped by students, educators, families, and community partners. Students and families interested in fall athletics can register through the online form on the district's website.
