Burlington High School Final Exams Begin Wednesday, Town Offices Closed Friday for Juneteenth
Burlington heads into a packed end-of-year stretch this week, with Burlington High School final exams beginning Wednesday and both schools and town offices closing Friday, June 19, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
TOWN HALL
Town offices will be closed Friday, June 19, for Juneteenth. Residents needing in-person services at Town Hall should plan ahead before the long weekend.
Three boards are scheduled to meet Tuesday, June 16: the Fox Hill School Building Committee convenes jointly with the School Committee (via Webex, 6 p.m.), the Board of Appeals holds its regular session, and the General Bylaw Review Committee also meets that evening. The Burlington Public Arts Committee follows on Wednesday, June 17.
SCHOOLS
The school year's final chapter gets busy immediately. Burlington High School students can catch the annual Coffeehouse Concert on Tuesday, June 16 (6:30–8:30 p.m.), before final exams open in earnest Wednesday. The BHS exam schedule runs by period through June 23: 7th and 6th period on June 17; 5th and 4th period on June 18; 3rd and 2nd period on June 22; and 1st period plus makeups on June 23.
Families with students heading toward college can attend a Financial Aid Event at the Burlington High School Auditorium on Thursday, June 18, from 6 to 7 p.m.
Marshall Simonds Middle School closes its year with the Final Fling celebration Thursday, June 18 (6:30–9 p.m. in the cafeteria), and an 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony on Monday, June 22 (6:30–7:30 p.m.). There is no school on Friday, June 19.
