Billerica Select Board Closes Doors on Lawsuit, Personnel, and Town Counsel Dispute

BILLERICA — June 15, 2026 — Billerica Select Board voted 5-0 to enter executive session on three separate matters at its June 15 meeting. The board cited Massachusetts General Law Chapter 30A to close deliberations on CRT Development Realty, LLC v. the Billerica Historic District Commission, a case pending in Middlesex Superior Court under Docket No. 2681CV00689; contract negotiations for the non-union position of confidential executive assistant to the Select Board; and a potential contractual dispute with town counsel. All five members — Pavitas, Pavro, Daris O'Connor, Rosa, and the chair — voted in favor. A brief procedural exchange over whether the chair needed to formally announce a return to open session was resolved before the vote, with the chair confirming additional public business remained on the agenda.
