Beebe Library Launches Summer Programs With Art Kits, Craft Night, and Tech Help
With town hall quiet and school buildings emptying out for summer, Lucius Beebe Memorial Library is filling the gap — rolling out a string of new programs this week that take the library's activity calendar into full summer mode.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The library's summer slate opens Monday, June 15, with Tiny Art: Wildflowers, a take-home program in which participants pick up a kit with basic materials and tutorials, then complete small-format wildflower artwork at their own pace over the following weeks. Spots can be claimed at the library starting at 9 a.m.
Tuesday, June 16, brings a Coloring & Craft Nostalgia Night at 6:30 p.m. — an evening designed around the low-stakes pleasures of colored pencils and childhood crafts. The library describes it as a "stroll down memory lane" for anyone who ever mourned a dried-out purple marker.
Rounding out the week, Drop-in Tech Help returns Wednesday, June 17, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Lecture Hall. The session offers 15-minute one-on-one appointments for residents working through device or software questions — no advance registration needed.
The library's broader summer programming, including Plaza Jazz and the Summer Reading challenge for kids and teens, continues through the season. Beebe is located at 345 Main Street.
