Ayer Sets June 30 Tax Taking; Homeowners Urged to Pay Now

The town of Ayer has posted notice that it will conduct a tax taking on June 30, 2026 at noon at Town Hall, giving property owners with unpaid tax bills just over two weeks to settle before the town moves to claim an interest in their parcels.

The Office of the Collector of Taxes has published a formal Notice of Tax Taking scheduled for June 30 at noon at Town Hall. Residents with outstanding real estate tax balances should contact the Collector's office promptly to avoid the taking. Separately, the town's mandatory water restrictions, in effect since May 1, remain in force; residents are reminded to comply with current outdoor water-use rules.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Ayer Public Library is gearing up for summer with a Kickoff Carnival on Saturday, June 20, featuring performer Ed the Wizard, a bounce house, hands-on activities, and a plant and seed swap. The free community event is open to all ages and marks the official launch of the library's summer season.
