Audit Committee recommends CBIZ for next three-year town audit cycle

WAYLAND — January 12, 2026 — Wayland Audit Committee unanimously recommends CBIZ for next three-year audit cycle. The 3-0 vote at the Jan. 12 remote meeting sends the recommendation to Town Manager Michael McCall, who will open sealed pricing and issue an award letter; Chair Michael German will forward a memo with the committee's scoring sheets attached. Members Klaus Shigley and Yutian Zhang backed CBIZ over Hague, Sahady & Co., citing CBIZ's stronger experience preparing the town's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. "To me, the most meaningful difference is ACFR," Shigley said. Finance Director Brian Keveny told the committee that industry consolidation has left CBIZ and CLA as the two dominant Massachusetts governmental auditors; CLA did not bid. The committee also approved its Oct. 27 minutes 3-0 and set a Jan. 26 meeting with CBIZ's Alina to review the completed ACFR.
