Acton Fire Department Adds New Recruit as Public Meeting Week Begins

Acton's fire department has a new face, Acton Patch reported Sunday morning, on an otherwise quiet weekend that gives way to one of the busiest civic weeks of the summer.

The next seven days are packed with public events and civic meetings

**Monday, June 15:** The Select Board meets at Town Hall.

**Tuesday, June 16:** The Acton Emergency Preparedness Fair comes to NARA Park, with free food, family activities, a scavenger hunt, prizes, a library pop-up, and a look at the town's electric emergency vehicles. Also that evening: the Commission on Disabilities, Planning Board, and Land Stewardship Committee all meet.

**Wednesday, June 17:** MassDOT holds a design public hearing on proposed safety improvements at Great Road (Route 2A/119) at 6 p.m. in Town Hall Room 204.

**Thursday, June 18:** The Department of Public Works hosts a 7 p.m. open house on the preliminary design for Central Street improvements between Main Street and Martin Street.
