Weston Select Board advances cell tower siting plan, approves consent agenda

WESTON — February 25, 2026 — A Weston Select Board member announced he will not seek re-election, leaving three open seats on the five-member board at the annual town meeting. At the February 24 meeting, member Tom Palmer told colleagues he is stepping down after his current term, prompting Town Manager Leon Gaumond to say in his weekly "Select Board Rewind" recap that it had been "my pleasure" working with Palmer over three years. The board also received a presentation from a consultant on siting new cell towers to address longstanding coverage gaps — a proposal Gaumond called a standing entry on the board's projects and priorities list — with the next step being a referral to the Planning Board toward a possible fall wireless overlay district. A presentation on the fiscal year 2027 operating budget and annual town meeting warrant articles was delivered by Gaumond, and the board deferred a vote on endorsing an updated Open Space and Recreation Plan to its next meeting. All consent agenda items were approved unanimously.
