Weston Planning Board Continues Regis College Senior Housing Hearing to Fall Town Meeting
WESTON — March 18, 2026 — Weston Planning Board unanimously continues Regis College senior housing hearing, eyes fall Town Meeting. The board voted 5-0 to continue its public hearing on HYM Investment Group's proposed 219-unit senior housing development at 300 Wellesley Street, with Chair Leslie Glynn and members pressing developer representative Doug Mance to reduce the project's footprint and explore alternatives to a full wastewater treatment plant. Public commenters cited Council on Aging data showing 53 percent of Weston seniors earn $75,000 or less, with resident Alan Day warning HYM it would face "substantial resistance" without more affordable units at a two-thirds Town Meeting vote. The board also voted 5-0 to endorse an Approval Not Required plan splitting the historic Case Estates at 131-135 Wellesley Street into three separately saleable lots, following an open house last Sunday that drew more than 90 prospective buyers.
