WESTON — January 26, 2026 — Weston's open space committee eyes February 10 for a final public forum before submitting its 10-year Open Space and Recreation Plan to the state. The Committee on Open Space and Recreation Plan met Monday and reviewed a near-complete draft organized around five goals, including connectivity and recreational access — priorities that emerged strongly from community surveys. Consultant Laurel walked members through a simplified two-tier action plan priority system, replacing the prior low-medium-high scale, with newly added language clarifying that all items are considered priorities "by nature of their inclusion." The committee agreed to reorder the plan's five goals to lead with connectivity, approved minutes on a unanimous roll-call vote, and set a Wednesday comment deadline for members to submit edits via the shared Google Doc. Town conservation staff member Jordan confirmed he would circulate proposed dates for the public forum the following day, with February 10 at 7 p.m. the leading candidate.
