Wayland ZBA renews animal clinic permit for two years amid neighbor complaints
WAYLAND — April 14, 2026 — Wayland ZBA renews animal clinic permit for two years, not 10, after neighbor pushback. The four-member board unanimously amended the 6 Winter Street special permit to allow four doctors and 13 support staff, up from three and six, after owner Dr. Caroline Pinsky conceded the clinic has exceeded its cap since at least 2018. Abutter Natalia Good of 13 Winter Street told the board the lot now holds 11 or 12 cars in a "four-lane" driveway and said the board should be "controlling the scope," not expanding it. The chair called the change "a doubling of the scope" and rejected the applicant's 10-year request in favor of a two-year checkpoint. The board also approved a 24-by-30-foot barn-style garage at 30 Cochituate Road under Section 706.1 and continued a 35 Snake Brook Road expansion to May 12.
