Wayland housing trust clears Hammond Road permit hurdle, approves engineering payment

WAYLAND — February 24, 2026 — Wayland's affordable housing trust clears the way for a Habitat for Humanity project at 12 Hammond Road. Chair Mike Staiti told the Municipal Affordable Housing Trust Fund Board on Feb. 24 that the special permit had been recorded with the Town Clerk and the appeal period closed that day with no challenges, allowing him to pursue the master deed. The board voted 4-0 to pay $325 to Connorstone Engineering from Community Preservation Act funds for an amendment to the comprehensive permit plan, with Susan Weinstein seconding. Trustees also said the Good Shepherd development is ready to move after settling a Conservation Commission appeal. On the town-owned 212 Cochituate Road parcel, Mary M. Antes reported a committee recommendation for roughly two small group homes — "a smaller number than what we had hoped for." A follow-up Zoom meeting was set for March 3.
