Wayland bans outdoor watering, switches to MWRA after plant issue

WAYLAND — Wayland has shut off outdoor water use and switched on its emergency connection to the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority after trouble at the town's treatment plant, the most consequential development heading into the weekend of May 16. Town Hall is also recruiting five residents for the Finance Committee and has rolled out a redesigned municipal website.

TOWN HALL

The Finance Committee Appointing Board put out a call May 15 for five candidates to fill seats on the seven-member Finance Committee, which shapes the town's annual budget recommendations and Town Meeting financial articles. Residents interested in serving can find application details through the town's News Flash announcement.

Also on May 15, the town launched a redesigned wayland.ma.us, billed as an improved online experience for residents and visitors. Departmental pages, agendas and the alerts feed have been ported to the new site.
