Townsend Library Closes June 19–20 for Juneteenth Holiday
TOWNSEND — The Townsend Public Library will shut its doors for two days later this week in observance of the Juneteenth holiday, and residents still need to re-enroll in the town's curbside trash and recycling program before next month's deadline.
COMMUNITY & ARTS The Townsend Public Library posted a holiday notice this week alerting patrons that the building will be closed Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20, in recognition of the Juneteenth federal holiday. Regular hours are expected to resume the following week. Patrons with holds or returns should plan accordingly.
TOWN HALL Residents who rely on town-managed curbside pickup have until Thursday, July 10, to register or renew for the 2026–2027 Curbside Trash and Recycling Program, according to a June 8 News Flash on the town's website. The town posted the reminder to give households adequate time to re-enroll before the deadline. Details and the registration link are available at townsendma.gov.
