SUDBURY — June 11, 2026 — Sudbury FinCom defers reorganization, sends co-chairs to new FY28 budget table. With only five of nine members present at gavel, the Finance Committee tabled its chair election and liaison assignments to June 29 and voted 7-0 to send Co-Chairs Michael Joachim and Michael Ferrari as interim representatives to a multi-board FY28 budget working group convening next Thursday. Member Henry Sorett pushed to serve himself, asking what the town's "absolutely must have" priorities would be if an override fails; Joachim resisted, noting Sorett is typically the dissenting vote in "one-to-eight" splits and so would not represent the committee. Assistant Town Manager Victor Garofalo previewed a $60,000–$70,000 reserve fund transfer for vocational education, reported nearly $1 million recovered from four closed tax title accounts, and projected $1.6–$1.8 million in FY26 interest income.
