Sudbury CIAC approves $270,000 Mass Central Rail Trail article, finishes warrant review

SUDBURY — April 1, 2026 — Sudbury CIAC unanimously backs $270,000 Mass Central Rail Trail connector, closing out spring warrant review. The Capital Improvement Advisory Committee voted 7-0 on April 1 to recommend the Community Preservation Act-funded wooden walkway to Hop Brook off Dutton Road, including expansion of a small dirt lot to handle two to four vehicles. Chair Matthew Dallas said the town would apply for a grant and return the funds to the CPC if awarded. Members also approved March 18 minutes 7-0 and reviewed Dallas's draft recommendation report, which carries forward unchanged language on the $2.2 million DPW garage concrete floor replacement and on Article 20, the stalled amendment to General Bylaw Chapter 11. Dallas accepted an April 14 Select Board invitation to discuss Article 20, saying he would take the earlier date "just to get it out of the way."
