State Lawmakers Direct Fair Share Funds to Wakefield Schools and Transit

WAKEFIELD — State Sen. Jason Lewis and Rep. Nick Lipper-Garabedian directed a share of Massachusetts' Fair Share Act revenue toward Wakefield, bringing relief to the town's school budget and funding transit improvements, according to Wakefield Patch — the most consequential local item in the June 15–16 window.

Lucius Beebe Memorial Library kicks off a busy stretch of programming this week. On Wednesday, June 17, from 2 to 3 p.m., the library offers Drop-in Tech Help in the Lecture Hall — residents can stop by for a free 15-minute one-on-one session without an advance appointment.

The library's Celebrating America's 250th series continues Monday, June 22, at 7 p.m., when author J.D. Dickey joins to discuss "Boston, 1776," his account of Revolutionary-era Boston during the fight for independence — a timely program ahead of the nation's semiquincentennial next year.
