Select Board interviews six candidates for Liberty Ledge/Sewataro Advisory Committee
SUDBURY — April 9, 2026 — Sudbury Select Board interviews six candidates for Liberty Ledge/Sewataro Advisory Committee. Across a roughly two-and-a-half-hour session April 9, the board questioned William "Granger" Atkeson, Kay Bell, Rachel Henschel, William Pimentel, David Henkels and Christine Vitkauskas; a seventh, Jonathan Harding, did not appear. Members pressed each candidate on prior opposition to the 2019 purchase of the roughly $11 million property, family connections to the camp, and how they would handle community division. Henschel disclosed her two children attend the camp and called it "not necessarily affordable"; Pimentel said his two are also enrolled. Member Charles Russo questioned Bell extensively about emails to the New England ADA Center's Kathy Gips, asking whether she could "objectively participate"; Bell said yes, calling her inquiries requests for "elaboration and clarification." The board also voted 5-0 to release attorney-client communications between Town Counsel and the former Town Manager regarding the property, dated April 3, in response to a public records request from resident Maura Carty. Deliberations are set for April 14.
