The 11-0 vote at the March 25 meeting authorizes Superintendent Kirk Downing to negotiate with Select Energy Development, with any final contract required to return for committee approval before signing — a vote currently targeted for the April 29 remote session. The committee also received advance notice that Masters Academy International, a private boarding and day school planning to open on the former Bose Corporation campus at 688 Great Road in Stow in September 2026, has filed for required school committee approval under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 76, Section 1; a formal presentation and Downing's recommendation are set for April 8. A proposed Spanish-immersion field trip to Puerto Rico — six days, five nights, approximately $3,000 per student, capped at 20 students — is slated for the consent agenda at the April 8 meeting. Downing also noted a one-day correction to the previously approved school calendar after a professional development day was miscounted.
