LS School Committee approves regional agreement amendments ahead of town meetings

SUDBURY — March 17, 2026 — LS School Committee approves regional agreement amendments before Lincoln Town Meeting. The Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School Committee voted 5-0 on March 17 to approve a final round of amendments to the district's regional agreement subject to changes by DESE counsel, clearing the document for the March 28 Lincoln Town Meeting warrant. Chair Ravi Simon told members that Superintendent Mark Terry had resolved comments from two DESE reviewers, with the most substantive change moving a memorandum-of-agreement clause on election procedures to part D so it would clearly apply to town-run elections rather than any future district election "in case we were taking on debt or something like that." A redundant Section 10 sentence on the budget process was deleted; DESE's concerns about the withdrawal and separation provision were resolved without text changes. Members Carty, Bitter, Ryan, Morton and Simon voted aye; one member was absent and conveyed support in advance. The meeting adjourned at 6:19 p.m.
