Historic Parlin House Opens as Community Space; Four Town Hearings Set Next Week

Acton's historic Parlin House has taken on a new community use, according to a Friday morning Patch report, while the town readies a packed slate of public hearings and fairs spanning road safety, infrastructure, and emergency preparedness over the next seven days.

COMING UP

The Select Board meets Monday, June 15. The following evening, Tuesday, June 16, the town holds its Acton Emergency Preparedness Fair at NARA Park — free food, family activities, a scavenger hunt, prizes, a library pop-up, and an up-close look at the town's electric emergency vehicles are all on tap. Wednesday, June 17, brings a MassDOT Design Public Hearing at 6 p.m. in Town Hall Room 204 on proposed safety improvements along Great Road (Rte. 2A/119). The week closes with a Department of Public Works Open House on Thursday, June 18, at 7 p.m., where residents can weigh in on a proposed Complete Street redesign for Central Street between Main Street and Martin Street.
