Concord Launches Road Work on 11 Streets, Sudbury-Thoreau Closure Set for Thursday

Road crews fanned out across more than a dozen Concord streets Tuesday and have a new intersection closure queued up for Thursday, as the town's summer paving and infrastructure season shifts into high gear.

TOWN HALL

The town's Department of Public Works issued two alerts Tuesday morning covering an unusually wide swath of the road network. Beginning June 23, work is underway on Adin Drive, Main Street, Devens Street, Everett Street, Hubbard Street, Stow Street, Walden Street, Thoreau Street, Sudbury Road, Thoreau Court, and Laurel Street. Residents on or near those corridors should expect equipment, lane restrictions, and delays.

A second, targeted alert signals that work at the Sudbury Road and Thoreau Street intersection is scheduled to begin Thursday, June 25, and will include a detour plan. Drivers who regularly use that crossing should watch concordma.gov for detour details before heading out Thursday morning.

Also visible on the town homepage this cycle: Town Manager Kerry Lafleur has appointed Aaron Miklosko as Interim Director of Concord Public Works, following the retirement of Alan Cathcart on June 19. Miklosko steps into the role as the department manages one of its busiest construction seasons.

The town continues to remind residents that a Level 1 Water Restriction limiting lawn watering to one day per week remains in effect.
