Burlington High School Finals Kick Off Tuesday; Town Hall Closes Friday for Juneteenth
Burlington High School students sit down for their first final exams of the season on Tuesday as the district races toward a June 24 last day of school, while all town offices will go dark Friday in observance of the Juneteenth federal holiday.
TOWN HALL
The Burlington town homepage is carrying a heads-up for residents: municipal offices will be closed this Friday, June 19, for Juneteenth, with regular hours resuming Monday, June 22. Before the long weekend lands, four boards are set to convene Wednesday evening, June 17 — the Burlington Public Arts Committee, the Board of Assessors, the Town Meeting Electronic Voting Committee, and the Historical Commission.
SCHOOLS
Exam season is here. Burlington High School opens its finals schedule Tuesday, June 17, with seventh- and sixth-period tests. The rotation continues through the week, with fifth- and fourth-period exams on Thursday, June 18, third- and second-period exams on Monday, June 22, and first-period and make-up exams closing things out Tuesday, June 23.
Thursday evening also brings two school-year send-off events running simultaneously. Families can attend a Financial Aid Event at the BHS auditorium from 6 to 7 p.m., while Marshall Simonds Middle School holds its end-of-year Final Fling in the cafeteria from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Students district-wide have Friday, June 19, off for Juneteenth, and the current calendar sets the last day of school for June 24, contingent on five snow days having been used.
